Description

The Distance Learning Health and Social Care Level 3 course would be beneficial if you are planning on becoming a social worker, health visitor, carer, nurse or paramedic. This course is one of our most popular and is ideal for anyone wanting to work in the health and social care sector. It is also excellent CPD material for those already working in a related field.

This home study course follows a logical and familiar structure; covering issues applicable to a Health and Social Care setting. You are then given an insight into many common health issues that affect most of us throughout our lives. These include common diseases and illnesses like diabetes and epilepsy. Subsequent units help you understand the effects that drugs and alcohol has on the body and their impact on society. This course will also provide you with the knowledge of how to support individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

As part of this course, you will have the opportunity to complete the Care Certificate. This consists of 15 standards and is intended for Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) and Adult Social Care Workers (ASCW), including Care Support Workers, Health Care Assistants, Assistant Practitioners, and those providing support to clinical roles who have direct contact with patients. The Care Certificate is a key component of the overall induction that employers must provide legally in order to meet the essential standards set out by the Care Quality Commission.

Support

The course will be delivered online including Tutor Support for 12 months. All assignments are marked by one of our professional Tutors who will offer regular feedback and guide you through your course. Postal assignments cannot be accepted without prior permission from the tutor and you must have access to email in order to contact your Tutor.

Throughout your course, you'll have the support of a Tutor to guide you. Additionally, you can reach out to the Student Support Team for help with any other questions you may have. You can be assured that you will receive unlimited support for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.

Assessment

You must successfully complete a series of assignments. Once all assignments have been completed satisfactorily, you will then be awarded your certificate.  The good news is, there is no final exam.
