Description
This IGCSE Combined Science Double Award Course is ideal for anyone wishing to gain a knowledge and understanding of this subject. You will also find this course extremely valuable if you are looking for a progression route for further training whilst employed or would like to move onto an A Level in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
This course will help students develop an enthusiasm and interest in the scientific world, appreciating the significance of science in wider personal, social, environmental, economic and technological contexts, with a consideration of ethical issues.
Support
The course will be delivered online including Tutor Support for two years. All assignments are marked by one of our professional Tutors who will offer regular feedback and guide you through your course. Postal assignments cannot be accepted without prior permission from the tutor and you must have access to email in order to contact your Tutor.
Throughout your course, you'll have the support of a Tutor to guide you. Additionally, you can reach out to the Student Support Team for help with any other questions you may have. You can be assured that you will receive unlimited support for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.
Assessment
The course contains a number of assignments which your tutor will mark and give you valuable feedback on. You will also have access to a range of online resources.
Students will be required to arrange and pay for their examinations at an approved centre when an examination forms part of the course. We can provide an extensive list of these centres for you.
Differences between Cambridge and Edexcel Exam boards.
Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSEs are international qualifications. Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSEs can be taken worldwide including the United Kingdom. Both exam boards offer a similar specification however different courses can have a different structure. Both the Cambridge and Edexcel courses are full International GCSE qualifications.

This IGCSE Science (double award) CAIE Course will give you the opportunity to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics within a cross-referenced, scientifically coherent syllabus. It is a double award qualification, earning two grades. Students gain an understanding of the basic principles of each subject through a mix of theoretical and practical studies, while also developing an understanding of the scientific skills essential for further study.
You learn how science is studied and practised, and will become aware that the results of scientific research can have both good and bad effects on individuals, communities and the environment. All candidates take three papers.
Candidates who have studied the Core subject content, or who are expected to achieve a grade 3-3 or below, should be entered for Paper 1, Paper 3 and Paper 6. These candidates will be eligible for grades 5-5 to 1-1.
Candidates who have studied the Extended subject content (Core and Supplement), and who are expected to achieve a grade 4-4 or above, should be entered for Paper 2, Paper 4 and Paper 6. These candidates will be eligible for grades 9-9 to 1-1.

This IGCSE Science Edexcel (Double Award) Course will allow you to to acquire scientific knowledge and facts, and an understanding of scientific concepts, principles, themes and patterns. You will also sustain and develop an enjoyment of, and interest in, the scientific world.
The Edexcel International GCSE in Science (Double Award) takes approximately two-thirds of the subject content of each of the Edexcel International GCSEs in single sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), and combines them into an International GCSE in Science (Double Award) worth two International GCSEs.
