More Information for International Learners

The International A Level system is slightly different to the UK system.  Whilst A Levels and International A Levels are equivalent to one another, some learners prefer the International system due to modular A Levels available.

With the A levels being modular, exams can be split over two exam series for most subjects.  This is something you are not able to do with UK A Levels.  Also, if you take the IAS Level, you can top that up to the Full A Level by taking IA2 thereafter.

IAS + IA2 = Full A Level

Sciences – International A Levels

Sciences can sometimes come with a practical element.  Below we detail how this works with both CAIE and Edexcel.

CAIE Science

For biology, chemistry and physics, paper 3 and paper 5 is a practical.  This is mandatory and you must complete these papers in order to achieve the Full A Level qualification.

Edexcel Science

With Edexcel, the practical element is only assessed through written exams.  This takes place in paper 3 and paper 6.

A Level FAQs //

There are no previous entry requirements for our A Level courses, however please bear in mind that subjects such as IGCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), are required for most universities, courses, apprenticeships, and jobs.

If you would like to see our range of IGCSE courses on offer,  you can check out our IGCSE page. We have a variety of IGCSEs so there is something for everyone and you won’t have any difficulty choosing.

You may be asking yourself whether you should be studying International A Levels or UK A Levels and put simply – if you are completing your exams outside of the UK, then you should be looking at completing International A Levels. However, if you are looking to sit your exams in the UK, you have the option of completing either UK or International A Levels.

Whether you wish to complete International A Levels or UK A Levels online, there are many examination centres throughout the world and your Exam support team will be ready to help you find the most appropriate centre to suit your needs. Whether you are in France, Malaysia, Indonesia or India our support team are ready to help and you will find a direct link to them on your student portal.

We are able to offer Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel for international students and AQA for UK students. When choosing an awarding body, you should also consider the accessibility to an exam centre within your reach.

Many international students are concerned that International A Levels do not match their UK counterparts, however this is a myth and the national agency in the UK for the recognition and comparison of international qualifications and skills (NARIC) have concluded that the linear UK A Levels do not affect comparability. Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel are highly regarded at universities worldwide and gives both international and UK learners greater options when choosing their future careers.

As our A Level courses are completed online, as long as you have internet access, your studies won’t be affected. With the flexibility of International A Levels, examinations can be sat in many countries, with Cambridge having exam centres in excess of 130 countries.

As we are an International College, we are not able to send you paper based text books but you will receive access to our eBook library where you will find eText books relating to your chosen course.

The simple answer is yes, Cambridge IGCSE subjects form a natural progression route onto Cambridge international A Level courses.

Yes certainly, we are able to offer you an AS option only or an option to complete the remainder of your A Level.

We are able to provide a predicted grade and reference for University or a Transcript if required. Please note, there will be a small admin fee for this service to cover the time taken in gathering all of the information together and liaising with your chosen University.

The information above applies, if you wish to study A levels in Malaysia or any other country outside of the UK.
